You can control the density of these beignets by how thin you roll them. a 1/4 inch of dough will give you a dense think beignet that will stand up to dunking in coffee or hot chocolate, while a thinner dough will give you a light beignet with an air-filled pocket in the center. Play around with this recipe and make them how you like them.
Shopping list:
3/4 cup of warm water
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 tablespoon of butter
powdered sugar to taste
2 cups of self-rising flour or make your own rising flour
